Description This album shows how to modify the Yamaha PCY150S cymbal to work with Roland sound modules. The first modification shows how to make the PCY150S work as a 2 zone Crash, and the second shows how to make it work as a 3 zone Ride cymbal. Please Note: Attempt these modifications at your own risk. These changes will void any warranty on the cymbal and I cannot be held responsible for any mistakes, accidents, or damage done to you or your cymbal.

Description This is my hybrid hi hat. I connected a Roland FD-7 controller to a standard hi hat stand, using a Yamaha PCY130S cymbal. This provides the durable variable control of the FD-7, the feel of the Yamaha PCY130S cymbal, and the movement of an acoustic hi hat.

Description This is my upgraded DIY edrum setup. While the Yamaha setup worked perfectly well and sounded great, being a gadget geek I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to upgrade to a Roland TD-20 module.
